I am curious as to why Bryson was not downgraded for a poor course fit for this week at Portrush. I was reading the previous forum post about The Open and how several members were stating that driver length is overrated at this course which is Bryson’s strongest attribute. He has a poor track record at this types of courses. His best showing at an Open was in 2022 at The St Andrews Old Course that heavily favors driving power and doesn’t reward accuracy. While both courses are links golf - they reward different players skillsets.
Was their just not a major overall course fit adjustment for Portrush this week due to the higher variance aspect of Open championships? Have you guys made minor course fit adjustments like this in at past when their was limited course history/data to pull from?
With that said, thank you guys for everything you do. You guys have been completely spot on with everything the last couple months especially at The US Open and Scottish Open. I just wanted some insight on this particular topic.
