Speaking of age, does the model weigh in age in some way?
Yes, it is part of the second column adjustments on the player skill decomp page. At first blush you might think age can just be ignored because we are only predicting 1 week in advance, but then you have to keep in mind that we are using data from the last 1.5-2 years or so. So much of the weight going into e.g. Tom Kim’s prediction is from when he was 19 years old and some when he was 18 years old.
I think the adjustments range from like -0.1 strokes to +0.1 strokes, so pretty small. For younger players we could probably do something more complicated as their aging curves are likely steeper.
