In the first round of LIV - Indianapolis, yesterday, Sebastian Munoz started his round on the 2nd hole in a very pedestrian way. In his first four holes he had two pars, a birdie, and a double bogey. What followed was mind boggling. Eight consecutive birdies, followed by a par, and then five more birdies for a score of 59. Apparently the first time in a pro tournament someone has broken 60 with a double bogey on their card. He didn’t slow down much at the beginning of his second round. Four birdies in a row, followed by a par and two more birdies. I doubt that they keep records for this kind of a stretch, but 17 birdies and a par in a contiguous stretch of 18 holes must be some sort of record.
