Now the LIV broadcast hasn’t worked since it went live a couple of hours ago. 
I wonder if they didn’t pay their production people.
The YouTube live chat on the stream is entertaining, at least.

Feel bad that Bryson won’t get his 500M. The guy really deserves it… everything he’s done for the game.
LIV will probably never get a fair shake (see snarky comment above) bc golf media coverage is essentially controlled by the PGA.
But coverage, competition and structure wise LIV was innovative and creative in a sport that was flat and lazy.
Honest question, do you honestly not know there is a distinction between the PGA and the PGA Tour?
Also, if we want to talk about media that is bought and paid for by a golf league, let’s turn that camera around for a minute.

The golf media was bought/coerced/bullied into favoring the PGAT. Anyone pretending that isn’t case isn’t serious
One of the leagues coerced their media partners and it isn’t the PGA Tour.
The PGA Tour’s media partners do have your standard order sanitation that you get from most sports. (They don’t talk about why Taylor Moore and Nico Echavarria were suspended in college, for example). If the other sports had a competitor being irrationally funded by a country with wretched human rights record, I bet you see some commentary over why that is a bad thing. That isn’t coercion.

This cannot be serious. Do you think if No Laying Up was pro LIV they would get friendly deals with titleist and access to Pebble? If the athletic came out with an opinion piece on how LIV is good for golf they would get interviews and access?

Yes, I think they would get access to those things still even if they were pro LIV. Do you have an example of an outlet losing access? We had discussions with our contact at the PGA Tour about whether it was fine for us to cover LIV (it just came up in passing, we didn’t ask for permission) and they didn’t have a problem with it.
As I mentioned before somewhere, Golf dot com literally had every relevant LIV guy (BK, Cam, Niemann, etc… maybe only no Bryson) on their shot shaping range segment. A lot of the mainstream news outlets wrote what I would consider puff pieces about LIV at various points. I have a ton of respect for Eamon Lynch who has continued to churn out critical LIV articles since its inception. If I was a golf writer, that’s what I would have done; LIV is/was a stain on the game and deserves to be treated as such. I probably wouldn’t have focused on the Saudi dimension as much as Lynch though.
Also Hogtrough, please stop asking people “if they are serious”. Yes, we are all serious here, trying to have a discussion about LIV. It sucks that nobody can start a real conversation here because of you.
If I was a golf writer, I would have ignored it entirely. Trolls feed on attention, and their goal was attention. Granting those events legitimacy at all was a step too far to me.
This is what I mean. The quality of golfer was higher than many PGAT events and yet we get hateful nonsense like this
Let’s think about TV. If you want to cover golf on TV you had to play nice with PGAT. CBS, ESPN, obviously Golf Channel and NBC take up an enormous amount of golf coverage among golf fan audience (old white guys). There was basically a total ban on LIV coverage (or total anti LIV tone) from these massive outlets
It’s not hateful nonsense though.
A group came in that, in my view, didn’t understand pro golf very well, and didn’t seem at all concerned with the long-term health of the sport, and started offering the best golfers in the world hundreds of millions of dollars to go play in 54-hole, shotgun-start tournaments with music blaring on every hole.
How is it not justified for a golf fan to be upset by this?
Are you also puzzled why people get upset/depressed/angry when a prominent soccer player signs with the Saudi league to go play in obscurity?

By “many” are you talking about the Puerto Rico Open and the Barracuda? Just by field size alone that can’t possibly true, especially when you have half the field filled up by players over the hill.
