Morikawa: when it rains, it pours

Viz Blog | When it Rains, it Pours (datagolf.com)

I use DG weekly as a very active DraftKings player… I’ve had a lot of success since the beginning of last year in using the course history data to identify corollary players and love using DG given all the API access. I notice that when I go through my process, I almost never play guys Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, Max Homa, etc. Either they rate out poorly for DG and me, or are just overpriced in comparison to guys around them in DK pricing.

I think it boils down to this “when it rains, it pours” concept in the viz blog. Is there any statistic or measure I could draw from or create using the DG data to identify players who fits this mold? or guys who may fit the inverse and seem to always middle out in performance?

Standard deviation to find guys who reach high heights for tournaments, correlation of deviation among each facet maybe for the specific morikawa type rounds ?
