Can you explain what the SG Cats adjustment is within the Player Decomposition? I know its not a course fit adjustment because those adjustments are separated elsewhere in the chart. Each week this category (SG Cats) seems to be the largest adjustment. Is it only related to ST vs LT for certain category as the note implies? Any color on this would be helpful. I kind of think of this as adjustment as upside. Check the SG for each category for each player with the highest and lowest adjustments and surely you’ll catch a pattern

It is primarily adjusting for SG category performance: e.g. short-term ott performance is more predictive than short-term putt performance. There are also a couple minor adjustments in there related to driving distance and accuracy, and some shot-level stuff. But the overall idea is that this is an adjustment we are making based on sub-components of a player’s total SG.
