Ryder Cup 2023 (it's time!)

I’m not opining on Tommy vs Rickie specifically but is ‘Ryder Cup record’ meaningful at all? Any US player who has been in the last few RCs will have struggled because the US have struggled. I think there is some signal there in terms of European courses maybe? Though likely factored in by the market given US underdogs.

Ya it doesn’t really matter. The main takeaway here is Fleetwood has a good chance to play all 5, whereas Rickie likely plays 3.

Early thoughts on the lines on these matchups? Anything stick out to anyone?

Scheffler/Burnsy 2.5x betfair.

Has anyone seen pin locations posted anywhere?

Good luck everyone! (20cHaRaCtErs)

Been following it on the joint NBC/SkySports broadcast during the week and even the americans are hyping the europeans. With Chamblee in the driver seat (surprise, surprise). You could here an occasion “we know the americans are strong.,.but” followed by some stat with zero bearing.

On a general note they have continously talked about the importance of leading/winning day 1 to go on and win the cup. Who could’ve thought that it’s good to lead a match, and if you lead even closer to the end of a match, it’s even better. Really surprising…

Was all this line movement basically because the Americans were all just not playing this last month while the Europeans were playing? And that actually matters?

Playing a lot and playing well obviously a factor, but movement is probably mostly because of big, sharp players getting action in late when the markets are deeper. So far it looks like they had the right idea

I guess my point is also a question whether these sharps are also considering this break

Where did this idea that all need to play come from? I’d need a lot of evidence to believe that over just play best guys the most. Seems like a gut feel thing

My guess is that the break vs playing well in the last month is way less important than the average person would think. I think it just happened to coincide with sharps liking EU for other reasons (which also had little to do with player ability)

I’m starting to like this alot. Backing up his words with some good golf now. And both Zach and especially Freddie liked his “cockiness”.

“Alright sonny, show us what you got, you’re first”

The coverage has just been apocalyptically bad in North America. It’s like watching delayed highlights.

Fucking disgusting ending. Bobby Mac gonna beat Harman with 0.5 pts playing shit. Well deserved, I guess though with Harman being equally useless. Either way, fuck off.

Harman might get another crack tomorrow… US had a bunch of guys lay massive eggs. Don’t see a scenario where Bob plays before Sunday.

Yup, true, that could happen. Tilt officially on hold

edit: cheers

This thing is over. We (USA) just don’t perform over there.

The illness affecting the US team must be very contagious, even I felt sick watching them, almost threw up watching Sam Burns.

In fairness even if the US team played decent they still would have gotten spanked, the Euros played so well in the opening foursomes.
