Has anybody studied if players who play final qualifying, 36 holes on Monday, underperform in their subsequent week? I don’t want to reinvent the wheel tonight if I don’t have to, before making 1+D picks.

Do not have an answer to your question other than there likely isn’t a large enough sample size to say either way.
I did not keep track of how many people in the Canadian Open tried to qualify for the U.S. Open, but I do know Ludvig Aberg was one of them who did not advance. He is one to keep an eye on. I would have to think playing 36 holes on Monday with travel to, and from, would probably not bode well for most guys.
