Thread of career crashes and resurrections (E.V.Rooyen edition)

Grillo is now longer being monitored as his OTT and approach play seems to have returned to his baseline.

Boy this aged like milk! freezing cold take!

I like Hovland so glad to be wrong on that one! It’s funny hearing him talk about the state of his game because even after that win he sounds like he’s still pretty unhappy with his swing. But he’s good enough to win despite that

Totally agree, one of the most like-able guys on tour!

Seeing him DFL by 7 shots in Round 1 and checking his DG page, I submit Brandon Wu, who is 2 years from being a Top 100ish player and now has fallen off a cliff.

Also crazy that he can be top 70 in FedEx cup standings with these results

bump.

Things only getting worse for Barnes. Amazing they let random hacks way down last year’s FEC list get starts over up and coming DPWT players.

I know people that know Barnes personally and he likes to drink/party so I’m sure that has something to do with it.

Probably about to curse him back to anonymity but… :wolf:?

JJ Spaun’s game seems to be in the mud in 2026. I’m putting him on crash watch

His ball striking at API and the Players was very good, I actually liked him a lot this week thinking he was close to finding last year’s form. Somehow gained well with his irons again today.

Trust the irons, ignore the rest for Valero apparently.

Yeah, when I dug into that, it looked like it was mostly his putter that was letting him down this season. Didn’t lose strokes putting this week and got the W. Good for him

Davis Riley was DFL at The Players and is on DFL watch this week.

Edit: I confirmed he was the first to pull this off. Bear in mind, though, that until about 20 years ago, past champions of the Masters played well into their 70s and often took the DFL crown.

Now, if Riley can pull this off in the PGA among a sea of club pros, I will be impressed.

If Riley hits the ball like he did at Augusta, I’m not ruling it out! I went back and watched every tee shot and that was UGLY.

Putting Neal Shipley on notice.

I was interested in Brooks’ SG vs. Lowry’s today, as BK is contributing nothing, and I saw that Shipley had the worst SG of the day at -7. This season he’s only made 1 cut (Phoenix, T68). Good news (maybe) is that it’s the short game causing most of his problems.
